Northeast missouri outdoor wednesday

Outdoor_Wednesday_logo_thumb[2]

snow1 Monday (yesterday) evening, we received more snow.  The sun was shining, this morning, when I took these photos of an evergreen, beside our back porch.

I used the Canon Rebel Xti, set on Raw and on P or Program Mode, with Manual Focus enabled.

The photos were edited in Photoscape, using Pictorialization, in Water Painting mode to create the effect, shown below. Pictorialization is found under the Filter option.

I altered each of the photos, in this post, using Photoscape.

Even though many of us are tired of winter and the weather it brings, it’s here with us, at least another 5 weeks.  Therefore, I decided to make the best of it, playing in the snow.

I suppose I should have been baking Valentine cupcakes or finishing the living room rearrange, but when I saw the sun, I just had to take a few outdoor photos.

This photo was altered, using the Watercolor Pencil effect, in Photoscape Pictorialization.

I’ll get those cupcakes baked tomorrow and finish the furniture moving, while visiting, during Outdoor Wednesday, at Susan’s.

Like what you did with the photos. Sun shining here, but only 23 deg. - cold.

Wow- that is very cool! I am an aspiring photographer (just as a hobby) I wish I knew how to do all that fancy business! Is Photoscape a difficult program to learn?

Those photos are just stunning.

I don't have many setting on my little camera, I just try to never use flash.

I can at least play around some in PhotoBucket, but I'm not sure I can do a well as you.

Talk to you soon ;)

Those photos are just beautiful.
My little camera don't take very good pictures. I some day hope to have a new one.
I am tired of snow and icy roads.
Thanks for sharing.

What LOVELY wintry captures and beautifully creative use of filters! I use Photoshop Elements to achieve similar results when I take the time to play.

What great photos - I love the original, but also the watercolor pencil. I'll soon be purchasing a new camera and I've been jealously watching your photos for several weeks . . .

Pat, I love the photos of the snow and branch and appreciate the idea of toying with the photo for the pencil sketch and paintings....just one more thing I will do to amuse me in the MN snow that's sweeping in here, just when I thought spring was on the way.

Oh, never enough time. The snow is very pretty, and it may actually be coming here. Which isn't customary. Usually it doesn't stick though.

You have a better attitude than I do! I nearly froze to death just getting the mail today. It is 12 where I am right now (Illinois) and the windchill is -4. Why is it your pictures look so pretty...but, it doesn't seem nearly that pretty watching it out my window!

Wow I am impressed Pat! You should teach a digital photography class.
I know so little about any of those programs. I had to drive home from work at 9pm in that snow. Ugh it was scary but I made it safe. Have a great week!

Pat-I am just learning to play around with the editing. I love the blues peeking thru in your first picture. Oh dear, now you have given me something else to try in Photoscape :) Thanks, I think :)

I am beginning to use that editing tool too, just to experiment. Your photos are beautiful, but the enhanced ones could be framed as art!

Wow - stunning photos and loved the way you "played" (...edited) some.

Good morning Pat. I love what you did with your photos. All I can say is WOW. The watercolor effect is very pretty. Think about all the things that one photo can become. All the photos look fantastic. Good job. You Gotta love that Rebel.

I smiled when I read your comment. I didn't remember that J was called moose until you mentioned it in your comment.
We have a photo of a mama and her baby at Yellowstone from a few years ago. We were lucky enough to happen upon the scene. We were far away and Bill did not have the proper lens and the photo is blurry. We still printed it and framed it though. A very special event for us.
I'm glad you took time to enjoy the snow. It is snowing right now. I don't expect a lot but Bill's class has been delayed for two hours. Snow in the mountains is a problem.

Take care,
Hugs, Jeanne

The valentines can wait!!

Pat these photos are Glorious! I'd so love to copy the first and a couple of the line drawings. But you asked your followers not to copy your photos, so I won't. I'm so pleased to see your images today. We're still getting snow in Ohio today. And like you, I'll make the best of it and thank God for the beauty of it.
Sincerely,
Kris

P.S. Still trying to figure out the New Mercies calendar. I ended up with a generic I'm not too fond of.
Thank you again,
Kris

Pat - Unbelievable!! Your pictures are just fantastic. I am hearing about all the snow at home. I can honestly say, I hope it doesn't come here!

I think it would be neat to take the original picture and the variances and put them in a frame that would hold five photos. Lovely---Lovely.

Have a great day.
